What’s new in AVG 2013?
The new products are set to offer completely new experience, from layout, performance to reliability. The new revamped user interface now resembles the new Windows8 interface. All security software companies wants to achieve better protection against latest threats. Now, most security software features some-kind of cloud-based security. AVG 2013 also boosted a cloud-based file reputation service.WiFi Guard feature is a new feature in AVG 2013 (it’s also available for AVG 2012 users via an update). According to AVG, “(WiFi Guard) helps you avoid rogue WiFi access points used by hackers by alerting you when your PC tries to access such a network.” WiFi Guard actually helps you recognize your trusted WiFi networks. It displays a notification, if Windows tries to connect to a different wireless network, having the same name (of the network) you were connected to earlier.
Another new feature in AVG 2012 product update is Do not track. The feature lets AVG users know when data is collected by any website. It basically provides a way to block ad sites, social networks and analytics scripts from your browser to protect your privacy.
Other notable new features and enhancements are as follows:
- Reduced application footprint, low system resource usage, when compared to AVG 2012 products
- Better threat detection algorithm.
