The company that sells food that can kill your pet is the same company that markets candy to your children.
We Are Legion, and we are once again outraged and disgusted over the untimely death of the Family Pet of one of our brothers.
After feeding his yet to be four year old pet the dog food brand Beneful, produced and sold by the Nestle Corporation, His Dog became extremely ill. Within a week, all of her bodily functions shut down. She expressed almost every single symptom of Carbolic Acid poisoning. Which, as it will be no surprise is one of the caustic chemicals used to process rotting protien byproduct to make a base for their food.
The Symptoms Expressed before her horrific and miserable decent were as follows
Apparent Bladder and Kidney Failure
Decreased urine output then no urine output
Yellowing eyes
Gastrointestinal Breakdown
What appeared to be severe abdominal pain
Bloody stools
Diarrhea
Nausea
Stomach pain
Vomiting
Rapid heart rate
Deep, rapid breathing
Lack of alertness
Heavy sweating
Fever
Inability to eat or drink
Then finally the inability to walk on her own
This dog was a beloved family pet and they had to have her put down eight days before Christmas. Being in a 5 person household with two small children this was not an easy thing to do. And as stated by the Veterinarian who was responsible for the diagnosis, the dog was in a state of such severe poisoning and organ failure, putting her down by way of euthenasia was the only option.
The Most Caustic of the Chemicals Found in Nestle Purina's Beneful brand of dogfood are as listed
Cresylic Disinfectant
Propylene Glycol which is similar to Anti Freeze
and the most disturbing ingredient, Crude Carbolic Acid
No living this should ever ingest any of these chemicals yet Nestle Markets Purinas brand Beneful as a Healthy Food for your pet
This is the statement of the man who had to bury his dog and explain to his children why their dog would not be returning home that afternooon.
On Tuesday December seventeenth, two thousand thirteen, I spent the latter portion of the afternoon digging a hole to bury my four year old Red Nose Pitbull. She was an extremely kind and loving animal that was a constant companion to my children.
She spent the last week of her life in misery. She was completely unable to eat, unable to walk, or even stand on her own. She was unable to control her bodily functions and repeatedly messed on herself. The amount of blood involved in those messes was quite disturbing.
I was able to get Her in to see a vet who informed me that her internal organs were failing her. She then asked if she could have been poisoned. The answer was no. I stated that she was an inside dog, only going outside with myself or my wife as we watched her closely. She was a happy dog and would never chew or eat anything we didn't feed her. In addition We don't keep any caustic chemicals in the house as we have children. We use vinegar instead of bleach etcetera.
Then the Vet asked me if there was a recent food change. When i replied yes, she became quite interested. I explained that due to a recent injury at work, finances changed and we had to make adjustments. We had been given a bag of Purina Beneful dogfood about a week before she got sick.
She died that same afternoon as there is very few options for a dog in such a severe state of poisoning. The Veterinarian suggested that we put her down. It was an extremely difficult position, but we tried to make the most humane choice.
I began doing some research online and googled "beneful killed my dog" and a plethora of information started to flow. Beneful has been suspect for a long time. I found one consumer report site that had six hundred eighty three people had logged accounts of their animals getting sick and or dying after eating Beneful products.
These accounts are so prevalent that the Purina brand of dogfood Beneful has a disclaimer about seeing a vet if your dog is sick. This disclaimer appears when searching for thier contact info which can only make one think "how many of these calls do they get?"
The company insists that their product is safe, and that the FDA has inspected it and there food is safe. However, that still leaves hundreds and hundreds of sick and dead animals with no explanation, and one thing in common the Nestle Corporations Purina Brand of Dogfood Beneful!
My goal in all this is simple. I want this company held accountable, and i want this poison recalled. I am taking steps to get their product tested in an independent toxicology lab, and I am reaching out to any affected to join my is raising awareness and a public outcry.
I will post more info as more facts concerning this matter are exposed, i will also set up contact email for all bereaved and those who want to help. Meanwhile we can all post relevant info on social media under the hashtag #boycottbeneful to keep it organized and to trend the information to raise awareness.
thank you so very much for your help. I LOVE YOU ALL and may no more animals be harmed by this poisonous product!
As moving as his account of the loss of his dog is, we should be inspired to demand that this poisonous product be removed from production and distribution.
This product takes waste, adds poison to it to kill bacteria, then it is processed. Nestle's Purina Brand Beneful then sells it to you to feed to your dog without regard to what the chemicals will do to your pet
After years of consumer complaints, reports of illness and deaths. The company refuses to even entertain the thought of a recall.
Profits by way of deceiving consumers that are uninformed of the caustic nature of this product, is exactly how Nestle is doing business concerning this product.
Dead Animals do not seem to be enough, Voices do not seem to be enough. Nestle must be forced to end distribution of this product before any more consumers lose their pets to a deceiving product.
The company that sells food that can kill your pet is the same company that markets candy to your children.
Boycott Nestle
Boycott Purina
Boycott Beneful
please use the hashtag boycott beneful and reach out to those who want to get this poison off of the market
