THE KILLING OF FERAL HORSES IN HANTS COUNTY NS.

Municipality of West Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada, May 22nd 2014
THE KILLING OF FERAL HORSES IN HANTS COUNTY continues into some serious legal grey-areas, if not well into the realm of absurd, and the citizens of West Hants should demand a full investigation/inquiry into the actions of its municipal council and any individuals involved in this.
Apparently, it has been the Deputy Warden of West Hants himself out doing the shooting with the blessing of the Municipal Warden. Really? An elected official traipsing onto private property, where no hunting is permitted, and discharging a firearm with the deliberate intent to kill a domesticated animal that is NOT considered game? Are you kidding me?
Where was the Department of Natural Resources? The Conservation Officers? The Municipal Animal Control Officer? The Royal Canadian Mounted Police?
In my opinion, there are so many things legally wrong with the scenario that it deserves some press attention in order to cause the right officials to look into the legality of these actions; and hold people accountable if wrongdoing has occurred.
The shooting of the horses, from a human perspective is one thing; and remains debatable. But the authority to do so, and by whom, should not be.
Please share this across Canada!
