| The non-psychoactive ("won't even get you high") high-CBD Cannabis
oil that has allowed 2-year-old Kyla Williams to go from about 200
seizures every day to ZERO SEIZURES in more than 3 weeks is ILLEGAL
under Canada's "Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations", along with
all other kinds of Cannabis extracts and edibles. In 2012, the British Columbia Court of Appeal struck down the ban on Cannabis extracts and edibles as unconstitutional because of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantee of the right to health and "security of the person". Stephen Harper's Con government appealed the B.C. Court ruling to try to ensure that Kyla Williams and thousands of other Canadian children like her suffer and die from severe epilepsy or brain cancer or leukemia. *REMINDER: On November 6, 2012, the same day that the good people of Colorado and Washington voted to re-legalize Cannabis, a law went into effect in Canada that gives more mandatory minimum prison time to people who grow flowers that can cure cancers and life-threatening epilepsy in babies than it does to pedophiles who rape babies. Once again, that is not some kind of sick joke or exaggeration ... that is literally true and it is currently the law in Canada. CTV News: Vancouver June 5, 2014 Toddler given medical marijuana http://bc.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=375411&binId=1.1184694&playlistPageNum=1 ------------------------------- via Elaine Neussler (Kyla's grandmother) June 5, 2014 Just thought I should mention this........ I guess our CTV interviewer Kent Molgatt, called Health Canada just prior to our interview and [they] said that Kyla's seizures may have just stopped out of the blue and not because of the marijuana oil....... How can we prove otherwise. That is what caused me to get passionate about the fact that 20 minutes after the first dose Kyla's seizures stopped and had me in tears. I still can not for the life of me believe their ignorance. These idiots are in charge of our health care?!!! Kyla is sensitive to change and seizures will always be a risk if we have to change products or she misses a dose; even when she is due for her next dose we can sometimes tell. The first oil did not work so those who are desperate you need to keep trying different oils, the higher the cbd's the better and every child needs different aspects of the plant. I believe that the oil can help repair the brain as well. Some changes can take longer. Kyla still has issues going on but we feel now she has a fighting chance and she is so happy and playful. Wow!! Okay people ......speak out whenever you can. Send messages .......changes are not happening quickly enough. I will be sending a letter of complaint to our govt tonight about those comments from Health Canada. ---------------------------------- B.C. Parents Ignore Health Canada, Treat Epileptic Toddler With Marijuana Oil The Huffington Post B.C. June 4, 2014 When you're a parent, you'd do anything for your child — even if it means ignoring the law. A Summerland, B.C. couple has done just that to get their epileptic daughter the help she needs. Two-year-old Kyla Williams was diagnosed with retractable seizure disorder when she was six months old. Prescriptions weren't working, and she was averaging 100 seizures a day. She's being treated with a marijuana oil that's known to help kids with similar problems in the U.S. The problem? It's illegal in Canada. So her family has had to bypass federal red tape to help Kyla. "The first product we got, we had to meet somebody in a parking lot," Kyla's grandmother Elaine Nuessler told CTV News. Canada's medical marijuana laws only allow for dried versions of the drug to be prescribed, but the kind that would help Kyla is an oil. It contains very little THC (responsible for the "high" that recreational users enjoy), and is mostly made up of CBD, which limits the severity and frequency of seizures. “Within 20 minutes of administering it the first time, she stopped her seizures completely," Nuessler told The Globe And Mail. The newspaper says there's a "lack of legal clarity" over what Kyla's family is doing. Elaine's husband Chris is a retired RCMP officer. Kyla's plight has totally changed his views on marijuana, he told Castanet.net. Kyla has not had a seizure in three weeks, CTV reports. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2014/06/04/medical-marijuana-oil-kyla-williams_n_5447375.html |
