Heads Up! Contaminated Vaccines Distributed In Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana
MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WKRC): The vaccine you received against the flu, pertussis, or hepatitis A may not work. And besides that, I could have infected you.
The Kentucky Department of Health is sounding the alarm Friday night about a vaccine manufactured at Mount Sterling. Location Vaccination began providing vaccines for companies in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana in September. Soon after, some people began to notice swelling and lumps at the injection site.
The health department says the vaccine was contaminated because it was not stored correctly. The company is stopping its distribution.
However, symptoms may appear three months after receiving the vaccine, so you should pay attention.
If your company worked with Location Vaccination, you should notify your employees, and if you live in any of the three states, call the Kentucky Department of Health immediately at 502-564-3418.
