A woman invaded the altar and pushed Father Marcelo Rossi during a Mass in Cachoeira Paulista this Sunday . The woman broke through security, stormed the stage during the celebration at Song Nova, and pushed the priest from above the structure. Despite the fall, he was not injured and the woman was restrained by the Military Police.
The priest was on site for the closing mass of the 'No Today' camp (PHN) . Around 2:50 pm the woman, who participated in the event, was able to pierce the security, invaded the stage behind and pushed the priest, who fell from the structure.
At the moment, at least 50 thousand people participated in the celebration. Despite the fall, the priest returned to the stage minutes later and continued the celebration.
According to the Military Police, the woman was sent to the Lorena police station and gave testimony. The PM reported that the occurrence was made by Song Nova because Father Marcelo Rossi decided not to register the aggression.
Police said the woman is 32 years old and was part of a group that came from Rio de Janeiro for the event. The companions informed the PM that she suffers from mental disorders.
In a note, Canção Nova reported that he regrets the incident with Father Marcelo Rossi during the Mass and reported that he was attended by the medical staff of the event and, after being released, continued with the celebration to the end.
