Xylitol toxic to dogs



XYLITOL, a common Artificial Sweetener Can Be Fatal for Dogs, FDA Warn. A new study from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says that Xylitol, commonly found in gum that is dangerous if consumed by dogs, and in some cases, fatal. Also known as sugar alcohol, xylitol is uses in thousands of sugar-free chewing gum varieties and other candies. And while we humans don’t need to worry about consuming xylitol with our gum, it could be deadly to our pet dogs. If you believe that your dog may have been poisoned with xylitol, it is essential that the animal(s) are taken to an emergency veterinarian immediately.
