Wife of Derek Chauvin Files For Divorce Same Day as arrest!

The beauty queen wife of the Minneapolis cop who is accused of killing George Floyd during an arrest for allegedly using a fake $20 bill was once criminally charged for writing a bad check, a new report says.
Officer Derek Chauvin’s wife Kellie, who was the 2018 Mrs. Minnesota America winner, was accused of writing a bad check for $42 to Mega Pick’N Save West in Feb. 2005, the Daily Mail reported.
Kellie — who was married to a different man at the time — eventually paid the money she owed and the case was dropped, the outlet reported.
Floyd, 46, was stopped by police Monday after they received a call that he had tried to pay for food at a deli with a counterfeit $20 bill.
In a 2018 interview in the run up to the beauty pageant, Kellie gushed to the Pioneer Press about Chauvin.
“Under all that uniform, he’s just a softie,” Kellie said at the time.
“He’s such a gentleman. He still opens the door for me, still puts my coat on for me. After my divorce, I had a list of must-haves if I were ever to be in a relationship, and he fit all of them,” she said of Chauvin who she met when she was working as a radiologist at a hospital.
Disturbing video footage of the Monday incident showed Chauvin kneeling on the 46-year-old father’s neck as he pleaded “I cannot breathe! I cannot breathe! … Don’t kill me!”
The death of the unarmed black man, who was in police custody, has sparked violent protests prompting the National Guard to be deployed to the Twin Cities late Thursday.
The police involved in Floyd’s arrest were all fired and the FBI, the Department of Justice and local officials are investigating the incident.
