When she went to the hospital, Maude says the doctor ignored the bite and instead asked if she had received her COVID-19 vaccination. “She kind of glanced at my hand and then she looked up at me and asked me: ‘Do you have your COVID shot?'” Maude said. “I said: ‘No.’ She didn’t talk to me anymore about my hand but she pointed to my wife and said we were fat.” Maude says the doctor later changed the term to overweight, saying it could increase the chances of complications from COVID-19. “She then proceeded to tell me she wasn’t going to give me my tetanus until I had my COVID,” Maude said."

A 39-year-old British model has died in a Cypriot hospital after a blood clotting incident after receiving the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
Stephanie Dubois was widely named as the deceased by close friends, colleagues, and local media.
Dubois suffered a brain haemorrhage and was in a coma before her death on Saturday.
Cypriot health authorities are investigating whether Dubois’s death was linked to the AstraZeneca jab. They are yet to confirm her identification.
The British-born model posted publicly about feeling ill after having the vaccine on May 6, saying she felt ‘horrendous’ after the first dose. She fell ill days later.
On May 14, Dubois made a second public post about her condition, revealing she had woken up with full body shakes, seized joints, dizziness, a headache, and that she was struggling to breathe.
She said she though she had contracted Covid-19 but had a test, which came back negative.
Tributes rushed in for the British born model, who had been living in Cyprus for the last five months.

The Swedish Public Health Agency has developed national criteria for assessing freedom from infection in covid-19.
The PCR technology used in tests to detect viruses cannot distinguish between viruses capable of infecting cells and viruses that have been neutralized by the immune system and therefore these tests cannot be used to determine whether someone is contagious or not. RNA from viruses can often be detected for weeks (sometimes months) after the illness but does not mean that you are still contagious. There are also several scientific studies that suggest that the infectivity of covid-19 is greatest at the beginning of the disease period.
The recommended criteria for assessing freedom from infection are therefore based on stable clinical improvement with freedom from fever for at least two days and that at least seven days have passed since the onset of symptoms. For those who have had more pronounced symptoms, at least 14 days after the illness and for the very sickest, individual assessment by the treating doctor.
The criteria have been developed in collaboration with representatives of the specialty associations in infectious disease medicine, clinical microbiology, hygiene and infection control. These have most recently been discussed in the group at a meeting on 19 April 2021 due to the new virus variants. The assessment was then that no update was needed. The recommendations will be updated as new knowledge about covid-19 infectivity is added.

Air India has said the personal data of millions of passengers
was compromised as the result of a cyber attack. The stolen information
included credit card and passport details.
India’s national carrier and largest international airline informed the public of the breach on Friday. “This incident affected around 4,500,000 data subjects in the world,” the company said in a statement. The airline explained that hackers have gained access to personal information that was registered between August 26, 2011 and February 3, 2021. The stolen data included passengers' names, dates of birth, contacts, passport details, and ticket information. The credit card data was also compromised, but Air India said that CVV/CVC numbers were “not held by our data processor.” The company also said that “no passwords were affected.” It added that “external specialists” had been brought in to help secure the compromised servers. A number of major airlines, including British Airways and EasyJet, as well as airline service providers, have fallen victim to successful cyberattacks in recent years. British Airways was fined £20 million ($28 million) by the UK's data protection regulator last year after the personal information of more than 400,000 customers was stolen. |

Ex-Tennessee school nurse charged in child porn investigation with 40+ student victims
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A criminal complaint unsealed May 20, charges a former Tennessee school nurse with attempted production of child pornography.

Small Plane Crashes Near Lake Arrowhead, 2 Survive

The single-engine Cessna carrying two people crashed into the side of a mountain in the Cedar Glen area, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Air traffic control lost radio contact and radar with the plane at 3:14 p.m., the FAA reports.
A Cedar Glen resident provided CBSLA with home security video showing the plane coming down. The loud crash can be heard in the audio.
A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokesperson told the The San Bernardino Sun newspaper that both the pilot and passenger were alert and able to talk to firefighters when they were transported to a local hospital.
The plane was flying from Chino to Big Bear City.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott today issued an Executive Order prohibiting governmental entities in Texas — including counties, cities, school districts, public health authorities, or government officials — from requiring or mandating mask wearing. Public schools may continue to follow current mask-wearing guidelines through June 4. After June 4, no student, teacher, parent, or other staff member or visitor can be required to wear a mask while on campus.
Beginning May 21, local governments or officials that attempt to impose a mask mandate or impose a limitation inconsistent or conflicting with the Executive Order can be subject to a fine of up to $1,000.
“The Lone Star State continues to defeat COVID-19 through the use of widely-available vaccines, antibody therapeutic drugs, and safe practices utilized by Texans in our communities,” said Governor Abbott. “Texans, not government, should decide their best health practices, which is why masks will not be mandated by public school districts or government entities. We can continue to mitigate COVID-19 while defending Texans’ liberty to choose whether or not they mask up.”
Exempt from the Executive Order are state-supported living centers, government-owned or operated hospitals, Texas Department of Criminal Justice facilities, Texas Juvenile Justice Department facilities, and county and municipal jails.
