RSV Vaccine for Pregnant Women Linked to Preeclampsia, Other Complications


A new post-authorization safety analysis of Pfizer’s Abrysvo RSV vaccine found that women who received the vaccine were 29% more likely to experience hypertensive disorders, including preeclampsia. The Pfizer-funded researchers cautioned that their findings are not conclusive.Vaccinating against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) during pregnancy may increase the risk of pregnancy complications and lead to premature birth and infection, according to a new study published in JAMA Network Open.
