10K chickens dead after ventilation shut off in suspected break-in: NS RCMP

 

10,000 Chickens Dead Following Break-In at Nova Scotia Barn
Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a break and enter at a poultry barn on Naugler Road in Pine Grove, Nova Scotia, that resulted in the deaths of approximately 10,000 chickens. Police say the barn was entered around 9:45 p.m. on July 24, and someone turned off the building’s ventilation fans. Officers responded to the property at approximately 9:50 a.m. the following morning after the incident was discovered.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact Lunenburg District RCMP. Police have not released any information about suspects or a possible motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
