Multiple
sightings of drones flying at night in Colorado have left investigators
and residents with far more questions than answers since it started
happening earlier this month.
Sheriff Tom Nestor of Lincoln County told ABC News
there were two confirmed sightings of drones flying over open areas,
including ranches. But there have been reports of more sightings in
other counties in the northeastern part of the state.
Each
report sounds similar: multiple drones, with navigation lights and
wingspans around five feet and flying around 30 or 40 mph. As many as 17
drones have been spotted at a time.
Sheriff Nestor is concerned the drones could cause a collision with the local airport’s emergency helicopter.
