Shocking moment boy, 4, is removed from his Silicon Valley school by POLICE after he refused to wear mask: Dad says face-coverings leave youngster 'distraught' fonts my video news link , https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...  Shawn's four-year-old son started school in Mountain View, California on Wednesday, having never before accepted wearing a face mask The little boy was 'inconsolable' after his first day at school, and teachers said he refused to wear a mask On Thursday, Shawn was called to collect his son because the principal, Michelle Williams, said he could not be in class Shawn recorded the clip and filmed when a police officer showed up, after Williams asked him to leave the school grounds Shawn told DailyMail.com that he felt the school was out of step with the rest of California, where the vast majority of schools have made masks optional He said it should be left to parents to decide whether their child wears a face mask The dad - who wished only to be known as Shawn, shared the shocking clip online. His four-year-old son was turned away from class in Mountain View, California on Thursday (left) because he refused to wear a face mask, and Shawn said the system must change. In a clip that Shawn shared with DailyMail.com, the little boy can be seen walking out of Theuerkauf Elementary School in Mountain View without a face mask. 'I'm sorry - he's not able to come in unless he has his mask on,' says Michelle Williams, the school principal. 'I welcome him here, and I've said this before and I'll say it again: I want him here, but it is our district's policy that students have to wear a mask.' She eventually tells Shawn: 'I'm going to have to have you removed from campus if you do not leave at this time.' Shawn, still recording, notes: 'They called a police officer to remove a four-year-old from campus.' Mountain View School District's policy is different to much of the rest of California, where masks are now optional in schools. Shawn said there were only three remaining school districts in the state enforcing mask mandates: he described Mountain View as 'the very last domino to fall'
