Canada is a global leader in the regulation of natural health products (supplements). Our current regulations take into account the unique properties and low-risk nature of these products, ensuring you have access to supplements that are safe, effective and high-quality, while respecting your freedom of choice, and the philosophical and cultural diversity of our country.

But Health Canada is now proposing changes to the existing Natural Health Product Regulations, based on a single public opinion poll and just six weeks of consultation. The proposed changes could impact how natural health products are approved, their cost, the number of products available for sale in Canada, and may not respect the cultural and traditional uses of these products.
