10 more people on Japan cruise ship test positive for coronavirus
Ten people on a cruise liner in the port of Yokohama tested positive for coronavirus, Japan said on Wednesday and disembarked for treatment in medical facilities as authorities monitor the thousands still on board. The 10 infected cases include two Australians, three Japanese, three people from Hong Kong, and one from the United States, as well as a Filipino crewmember. Japan's military prepared a chartered ferry to use as a quarantine ship that could house hundreds of suspected coronavirus cases as the number of infected people in the country rises. Japan Health Minister Katsunobu Kato said these remaining around 3,700 passengers will be quarantined onboard the Carnival Corp ship for 14 days. This includes 251 Canadians onboard.
